Public Notice of Firewood Transport

Innovative Readiness Training Program:

The Maine Bureau of Parks & Lands intends to solicit assistance from the Department of Defense’s Innovative Readiness Training Program (IRT). The assistance will include transporting firewood to State Parks. The proposed transport will take place from Bolduc and Charleston Correctional Facilities to Aroostook, Camden Hills, Cobscook Bay, Lake Saint George, Lamoine, Lily Bay, and Peaks-Kenny State Parks, in Spring/Summer of 2022. If this IRT is not approved, the Maine Bureau of Parks & Lands will transport firewood using staff time and equipment. This transportation will not be put out to bid.

Construction contractors, labor unions, or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition to military assistance for this project may contact Ryan Kerr, Engineer Tech IV from the Bureau of Parks and Lands at (207) 974-6467 or via e-mail at Ryan.Kerr@Maine.gov no later than thirty (30) days after the first publication of this notice. Persons not filing comments within the time frame noted will be considered to have waived their objections to military assistance for this project.
